Sofia Bost (Switzerland, 1986) studied Communication Sciences in Nova University of Lisbon before moving to London to pursue filmmaking. In 2015 she earned a Filmmaking MA from The London Film School.
"Party Day" (2019), her debut short film, premiered at Cannes Critics’ Week before touring more than 30 festivals, including the New York Film Festival, Leeds IFF, Odense IFF and Helsinki IFF. The film was awarded the Professional Jury Prize at Films Femmes Méditerranée in France and went on to a commercial release in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Germany, Iceland, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina, with both DVD and VOD distribution.
Her latest short film, "Stone Beach" (2025), a Portuguese-French co-production shot in France, premiered at Curtas Vila do Conde and is currently screening on the international festival circuit.
She's currently developing her first feature fiction filme "I Don't Know Where I'm Going" (Torino Script Lab).
